Widely distributed around the country. On the Black sea coast it colonises nearly all permanent water areas, somewhere in the high numbers.
Inhabits the southernmost parts of the country. On the Black sea coast not so widespread as previous species, but locally not rare.
In its distribution area on the Black sea coast, Mauremys rivulata lives always syntopically with Emys orbicularis.
